No Youth Football Speed
I am sure you are asking what to do if you have no speed. If you read the last chapter, you would know that according to my definition of speed, maybe only one team a year will have that player. Unless you are in one of the bigger programs in your league, chances are you may never have that player.
Is there no chance of winning and all has been lost for the season? Should I just throw in the towel and not even try? I think you know the answer, to these questions, but in case you do not, the answer is a NO!
If your team has good speed, that will be enough to compete with the teams in your league, provided they are coached right. You will need to have the lineman blocking in sync, along with great blocking schemes. I am a huge believer in double team blocking so make sure you select the proper offense. If interested, check out my single wing playbook, as that offense is perfect for youth football.
I believe by bringing more numbers, also know as blockers, to the area you are running to, you will gain an advantage over the defense. Even with average speed, if you use the proper schemes you will be able to compete with most teams.
If you have the unfortunate season where you have absolutely no speed then you have to adopt a completely special game plan for the year. I go over the options in great detail in my Youth Offense book.
