Stations Breakdown - Line and Backs
I am a big believer in letting your youth football coach’s coach. I run stations for about 1/3 of my practices. When we run offensive stations, we break the team down by lineman and backs.
The offensive lineman goes with the line coaches where they will work on the different blocking fundamentals as well as the different blocking schemes. I always make sure the line coaches are showing the same play or technique we will be using later in the youth football practice during the team offense portion of practice.
The backs will work fundamental drills that are specific to their positions only. I also show the walk through of any plays we will be introducing in the team offensive portion of practice. In the backs station I also make sure we get many repetitions of all our plays to date.
When we run the youth football defensive stations, we will break the team into the defensive lineman and Linebackers and the secondary. You really need the three different stations since each position requires different fundamentals and techniques.
