Tuesday’s FREE ran dead last. His next stop is the ALPO factory. That is how it goes in handicapping, reminding us there are no sure bets. We need to keep our bets reasonable and never load up on any single race.
Below is today’s FREE horse selection(s). These plays have made a straight bet profit for over 15 years using the methods described in my Epic Exotics book.
Each day I will give one or two of the many plays one can make every day at racetracks around North America. I want to prove these methods work everywhere so I like to give random selections from different tracks to prove it out.
Wednesday I will travel east to New York and go to Saratoga race 3 for our free pick. This is a Maiden Allowance or Maiden Special Weight race meaning the horse cannot be claimed after the race. This is a sign that the connections feel they have a pretty decent animal. The purse value is $50,000. This race is for Phillies and mares 3 years-old and upward that have not won a race. This is a 7 furlong race on the dirt course. Seven furlongs is the most difficult of all distances to handicap. This race offers Exacta and Trifecta wagering. We have seven horses starting, but only six betting interests as we have a coupled entry.
There are zero front-runners so the pace will be turtle like. I believe the winner will come from the leader at the ¼ and I do not expect much passing in the stretch. My only reservation to this comment is the 7 furlong distance. I will use my traditional methods of finding the key horse along with a few “unique” angles. My key horse will be #3 Abundantia
