Monday’s FREE pick is still running. I was surprised to watch Abel (Jockey) run such a stupid race. He never settled her down, went 4 wide at the turn and burned up too much horse early. There is a reason a Jockey’s hat size is three. Oh well, that’s racing so let us plow forward into Tuesday’s card. This is only one lost and I know I will only win 25-30% of my win bets
Below is today’s FREE horse selection(s). These plays have made a straight bet profit for over 15 years using the methods described in my Epic Exotics book.
Each day I will give one or two of the many plays one can make each and every day at racetracks around North America. I want to prove these methods work everywhere so I like to give random selections from different tracks to prove it out.
Tuesday we will travel to Mountaineer Park and race 6 for our free pick. This is a claiming race for $5,000 and carries a purse value of $8,800. This is a race of jeal “junkers”, just the way I like it. This race is for 3 years old and up which have not won a race since 7/21/08. That is over a year ago, people. The next stop for any of these losers may be ALPO. This is a 5 1/2 furlong race on the dirt course. We have a full card of 10 horses scheduled to start the race.
The pace looks slow with only #1 Jetponche showing any front running ability in his recent races, but he is not in a favorable position today and does not have the numbers it will take to win this race. If we can through him out, the rest of the field looks to run around the track, pace-less in the order they hit the ¼.
I am always looking at the race from a “different” perspective while looking for that edge my fellow handicappers may miss. #6 Jim’s Smokin Pinot fit the bill due to:
- 40%+ drop in purse price from last race
- 1st race after a layoff
- Best ½ in the field life-time
- 3rd beat life-time earnings
- Best speed rating and 3 of the fastest 4 speed ratings
- The 4 fastest stretch fractions
- Deshawn Parker wins 21% of his mounts on horse with today’s style & position
- Deshawn Parker wins 22% of his 5 ½ furlong dirt races
- Deshawn Parker wins over 24% of his mounts on horse with today’s style & position
