Sports Betting Free Picks 7-29-09
Another win from my free pick on Tuesday makes the week total 9-2.
For Wednesday, I like a few so let’s get to it.
Today I will back the Phillies once again The Phillies have won four in a row and are 8-2 in their last 10 games. The D-Backs have lost two in a row and are 4-6 in their last 10 games. The Phillies continue to dominate on the road with a 31-15 record while Arizona sucks even worse at home dropping 10 games under 500 to 23-33.
The Phillies send a monster to the mound in Happ who has a 7-1 record and a mind boggling 2.97 ERA. Arizona may as well let the Phillies use a pitching machine, as they go with Petit who is 0-5 with a 7.68 ERA. Look for the Phillies to put up a football score in this one. It may look more like an Eagles/Cardinals score when this one is OVER. (hint if you play totals).
My motto is “if it aint broke, don’t fix it” so we will stay a conservative handicapper and buy the line up to PHA +1 ½ -300.
I am on a roll so I will give another free pick. I will go to the great state of Texas for the next game. The Rangers are rolling while the Tigers are rolling over. The Rangers have won three in a row and have a 8-2 record on their last 10 games. The Tigers are coming off that huge series with the White Sox and are laying an egg in Texas. The Tigers have lost their last three games and are only 4-6 in their last 10 games.
The Rangers are awesome at home with a 34-19 record while Detroit is 10 games under 500 with a record of 21-31. This game sets up even better since the Rangers are the underdogs. Yep, you heard it right, Detroit is favored to win. Now before we use the old logic of “Vegas knows something” let’s take a closer look. It does not take long to see that Detroit is pitching Verlander who is 11-5 with a 3.12 ERA. He is awesome, however, the Rangers are serving up Feldman who is 9-3 with a 3.59 ERA. He is rock solid and would be favored against 95% of the pitchers he would face.
I have written time and time again on my belief in trends, so I love the better home team, with the better overall record, with a great pitcher against a slumping team.
The biggest key is I will buy the run-line up to Texas +2 ½ -250 meaning the Tigers will have to win be three for us to lose.
