Sports Betting Free Picks 6-28-09
Nice day yesterday as I went 2-0. Remember now we can hedge each of the next set of plays in our Time Zone Parlays.
Here are the selections for today to use in your Round Robin, Time Zone Hedge, Bam or SMA Parlays. I update the Series bets with current record and price. I will continue to “buy” a series if I feel it is a good deal.
Play 1
Boston 46-28 (Road: 21-18) 1:35pm ET
Atlanta 34-40 (Home: 17-21) TV: NESN, FSS
BOS: B. Penny (6-2, 4.93)
ATL: T. Hanson (3-0, 3.13)
The play is Boston +2 ½ runs -300. Here we have the classic good team Boston, 7-3
Last 10 and won two in a row, against Atlanta who is clearly not very good. Boston is better on the road than Atlanta is at home and by bumping the run line up to 2 ½ it will take three runs to beat us. The pitching match-up favors neither team.

Colorado 39-35 (Road: 22-20) 4:05pm ET
Oakland 31-42 (Home: 17-19) TV: FSRM, CSCA
COL: A. Cook (7-3, 4.00)
OAK: V. Mazzaro (2-2, 2.56)
I like the Rockies +2 ½ runs -320. As I wrote yesterday, I feel the Rockies are the better team and I love getting the bonus runs on a team I feel will win the game outright. Colorado has won 8 of 10 and Oakland has dropped 6 of 10. There is no advantage to the road or home team, as far as road and home records. The pitching edge goes to Colorado, but I am OK with the play as long as I get that 2 ½ run lead.

LA Angels 40-32 (Road: 20-17) 4:10pm ET
Arizona 30-45 (Home: 15-27) TV: KCOP, FSAZ
LAA: M. Palmer (6-1, 4.70)
ARI: M. Scherzer (5-4, 3.53)
I will play the Angels +2 ½ -265. This is a classic “don’t make sense game” in the fact that it appears Vegas has the wrong team favored. The underdog is in first place while the favorite is in last. The Angels are on a roll going 7-3 with 4 wins in a row, while Arizona has only won 3 of their last 10 and have lost two in a row. The Angels have the better pitcher going in this game. This play screams to bet on Arizona since I believe “Vegas knows something”, but not today. Arizona may win, but hopefully not by three.
Play 4 - WNBA
Seattle 6-2 (Road: 3-2) 9:30pm ET
LA 2-5 (Home: 2-0)
The Sparks have not started as planned this season. They are hoping to get another crack at the title but have started the season a dismal 2-5 and dropping their last game. Seattle is rolling starting the season at 6-2 and is currently in first place. They have a winning road record, and want to make a statement against LA. I will play Seattle -135 and buy some points to make then an underdog for a few of my Time Zone Parlays.
I will play the above games and tie them up in Time Zone Parlays with the CFL games later in the week.
