Stock Market Commentary 9-04-2009
The DOW rallied 63 points in the last hour ahead of the employment numbers due before Friday’s open. Is there any question the numbers will be positive for the market?
We will never know who leaked the numbers, but we do know, it was not to us.
All the major trading will occur in the first 90 minutes, and then it is off for the holiday. Only the amateurs will remain to trade, and they will be buying. Therefore, the indexes should close up on the day, on light volume, and then look out Tuesday when the entire team is back.
My suggestion is take profits early, and enjoy a long weekend. Next week things will be more active.
